Blue Devils rebound in second half

Northampton 59, Westfield 42 - The Blue Devils (6-7) struggled shooting the ball in the first half and trailed 28-18 at the break.

But Kerry McCarthy came off the bench and provided a defensive spark as host Northampton outscored the Bombers 41-14 in the second half.

Molly Ross and Lauren Weston (14 rebounds) each had 16 points for the Blue Devils.

Smith Academy 44, Easthampton 31 - The Falcons trailed 22-20 at halftime but wore down the Eagles in the second half en route to the Franklin South victory in Easthampton.

Abeni Davies had 14 points and Lindsay Gondek and Sarah Wickles each added nine for Smith (11-2, 11-1), which made eight free throws in the final four minutes to seal the win.

Alicia Carter and Alyssa Reardon each had eight points for Easthampton (4-9, 4-6).

Gateway Regional 55, Pioneer Christian 13 - The Gators remained perfect in the Tri-County League with the easy victory in Huntington.

Chelsea Merritt had a game-high 16 points and Brooke Fairman added 12 for Gateway (10-1, 9-0).

The Gators led 15-3 after the first quarter and 20-5 at halftime.

Holyoke Catholic 46, Southwick 34 - Despite turning the ball over 20 times and struggling to rebound, the Gaels made 11-of-16 free throws in the fourth quarter and held off the Rams at home.

Kaitlyn Veit led Holyoke Catholic (6-8, 3-0 Bi-County West) with 18 points, and Annie Broda added eight.
