Myrtle Webb, worked at Armory in World War II

Peru, N.Y. - Myrtle Reece (Ferry) Webb, 95, of Peru, N.Y., formerly of East Longmeadow and Springfield, Mass., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, at her home in Peru.

Born Jan. 4, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Harry and Elsie (Reece) Ferry, she was a longtime resident of Springfield and East Longmeadow, before moving to Peru over three years ago. Myrtle was the beloved wife of the late Clifford E. Webb who died in 1990. She was employed by Senior Services as a companion in Springfield and prior to that worked at the former Springfield Armory during World War II, and later at the former Buxton Leather in Agawam.

Myrtle was also a former member of Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam.

She is survived by her three children, George K. Webb and his wife, Nancy, of Huntington, Mass., Donald R. Webb and his wife, Diane, of West Springfield, Mass., and Jacquelyn L. Perusse and her husband, Frank, of Peru; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Myrtle was also predeceased by her daughter Patricia A. Webb in 1953 and by her son Theodore E. Webb in 1999.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. at Hafey Springfield Chapels, 494 Belmont Ave., followed by burial at West Cemetery in Granby, Mass. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. www.byronhafeyfuneralhomes.com.
