EASTHAMPTON - Irene (Pulaski) Cowan, 84, of Concord Drive, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Born in New Britain, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Matylda (Kupiec) Pulaski. She retired in 1987 from Ren Electronics in South Hadley, where she had worked for 13 years.

Irene leaves her loving husband of 63 years, Earl L. Cowan; her two sons, Michael Cowan of Torrington, Conn., and Jon Cowan of South Hadley; three daughters, Patricia Nichols of Williamsburg, Janice Rusin of Skillman, N.Y., and Kathleen Paquette of Easthampton; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Henry Pulaski.

Calling hours for Irene will be held on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St., Easthampton. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley.
