Amherst Regional senior Alyssa Leonard moved to within 10 points of 1,000 for her career with a game-high 16 in a 46-26 win at Ludlow on Wednesday.

Nicole DeMarchena added eight points and eight rebounds for the Hurricanes (2-0).

Leonard will look to reach the milestone at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Lee.

Frontier Regional 48, Chicopee 45 - The Red Hawks (3-0) outscored the Pacers 14-8 in the fourth quarter to win the game on the road.

Lauren Halla had a game-high 14 points and Kristin Calvo added 13 for Frontier.

Mel Stier and Cara D'Antonio each scored eight points for the Red Hawks.

South Hadley 58, New Leadership 18 - Jessica Mercier outscored the Wildcats with a game-high 20 points as the Tigers rolled at home.

Lindsay Conner added 10 points for South Hadley (2-1).

Gateway Regional 32, Dean Tech 19 - Brooke Fairman led seven different scorers with nine points as the Gators (3-1, 2-0 Tri-County) won in Huntington.

Becca D'Astous added eight points for Gateway.
