CHESTERFIELD - Kathleen "K" J. Erickson, 57, of Main Road in Chesterfield, passed away suddenly at home Dec. 7, 2009.

She was born May 9, 1952, the daughter of the late Emil and Kathleen (Golden) Erickson. She was educated in the Lowell schools. She owned and operated K's Country Crafts in Chesterfield for many years. Previously K had been employed at the Northampton Cooperative Bank and the former Bank of New England, both in Northampton, as a prep cook at the former Florence Inn and as a baker in the Williamsburg General Store, as a private home health aide, and at the former Stitches Unlimited in Williamsburg. K was a deeply spiritual person through Bible study and prayer. Marvelously artistic with her hands, K loved quilting, working with dried flower arrangements, cooking and baking, and caring for her gardens.

She leaves her beloved husband of 29 years, Kevin D. McQuaid; her loving son, John F. Mahan and cherished daughter-in-law, Deanna of North Las Vegas, Nev.; her cherished daughter-in-law, Nancy Delosh and her deeply cherished grandson, Brandon David Delosh of Easthampton; many nieces and nephews, and her constant companion, her "puppy-girl" Abby. K was the caring sister to Gayle, Robert, Margaret, Tina, and Mark. K's adored son, David J. Mahan, passed away in 2008, and she was predeceased by her siblings, Doreen and Carl.

The funeral and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The O'Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the David's Little Man Fund, care of Easthampton Savings Bank, Main Street, Easthampton, MA 01027. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law, wife and Bes Ol Fren.
