Elizabeth Tataro, lifelong city resident
NORTHAMPTON - Elizabeth (McGrath) Tataro, 85, of Riverside Drive, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Overlook Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born on Dec. 26, 1923, in Northampton the daughter of the late Edward and Julia (White) McGrath. A lifelong resident of the city, she attended local schools and was a graduate of the former St. Michael's High School. Elizabeth worked for many years as a machine operator at the former Pro-Brush in Florence prior to her retirement. She was a devoted communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was an avid sports fan, her two favorites, the Notre Dame and New York Giants football teams.
She leaves her sons, Thomas Tataro and his wife Wendy of West Hatfield and John Tataro and his wife Deborah of Leeds; she also leaves her five grandchildren, Jason, Steve and his wife Kristine, Tom, Coligny and Tryni; and a great-grandchild, Andin. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Mario Tataro, in 2005.
Calling hours will be Thursday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 9 a.m. from the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton.
