Daniel Drzal, longtime architect
CHICOPEE -Daniel William Drzal, 70, of Chicopee, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Baystate Franklin Medical Center Greenfield.
Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Max and Elizabeth (Maczka) Drzal. He was a graduate of Chicopee High School's Class of 1957 and Dean Junior College in Franklin. Daniel was a registered architect. He was employed for several years by Shepley, Bullfinch, Richardson and Abbott of Boston and also did work for various local architect firms. He enjoyed art and was a talented drawer. His interests included photography and classical music. Daniel was also a member of the Hadley Historical Society.
Besides his parents, Daniel was predeceased by a son, Carter Rice Drzal.
He leaves a brother, Thomas J. Drzal and wife Diane, of Feeding Hills; his aunt and uncle, Mildred and Raymond LaPorte, of Chicopee; a niece, Laura Robitaille and husband Daniel, of Westfield; a nephew, Christopher Drzal and wife Krista, of Worcester; grandniece Madison Robitaille; grandnephews Andrew and Alex Robitaille; and his former wife, Cindy Rice of Sunderland.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, from the Lawrence A. Maziarz Mortuary, 456 Front St., Chicopee, at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Willimansett at 10 a.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
