AMHERST - Margaret L. Pinette, 64, of North Pleasant Street in Amherst, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at home.

She was born Dec. 3, 1944, in Waterville, Maine, the daughter of Clarence and Louise Sorois Young. She attended schools in Winslow, Maine, moving to Holyoke in 1968, then to Easthampton and Northampton in 1998.

Margaret was active in the Senior Center at the Bangs Community Center in Amherst where she enjoyed painting. She also enjoyed playing bingo at the Pope John Paul Parish Center in Deerfield. She is survived by her husband, Jerome M. Pinette of Northampton; a son, Jerome M. Pinette Jr. of Greenfield; a daughter, Patricia Smith of Fairfield, Maine; two sisters, Judy Morrill and Patricia Dickey, both of Clinton, Maine; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Patrick.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Easthampton, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Gifts in her memory may be given to the Jericho House, Northampton Street, Route 5, Holyoke, MA 01040.
