SOUTHAMPTON - Bertha Niedzwiecki, 93, of Lynn Drive in Southampton, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in the Calvin Coolidge Nursing and Rehab Center in Northampton.

Born in Southampton on Jan. 13, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Stanislaus and Louise Szczesna Keller. She attended Southampton schools. Bertha enjoyed the Jolly Get Together Club of Southampton, cooking, and mostly her family and grandchildren.

Bertha was the widow of Matthew Niedzwiecki. She is survived by one son, Robert Niedzwiecki, and his wife, Fern; three grandchildren, David Niedzwiecki of Easthampton, Danna Niedzwiecki of Williamsburg, and Dr. Dena Mechoso of Pasadena, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Ella Mechoso and Seth Niedzwiecki; and one brother, Joseph Keller of Southampton.

The family would like to thank the Calvin Coolidge Nursing and Rehab Center staff and Dr. Shawki Kanazi for their care, support and consideration during Bertha's stay at the nursing facility.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral and burial will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, 168 Montague Road, Leverett.
