Strong second half for Easthampton

The Easthampton football team's offense came alive in the second half of a 29-6 win over Pathfinder in Palmer Friday night.

"It was just one of those frustrating #Tale of Two Cities' games," said Eagles coach Joe Kocot. "We had them stopped almost the whole game."

Easthampton (3-5, 3-3 Tri-County) could not generate any offense in the first half while the Pioneers (1-7. 1-4) scored on a four-yard run in the second quarter.

However both the Eagles' offense and defense stepped up after halftime. Justin Camp took an interception 45 yards for a score, and a two-point conversion gave Easthampton an 8-6 lead. Camp and Jeremy Lessard each had interceptions in the game.

The Eagles' running game performed better in the second half after five turnovers in the first.

Jared Bean (15 carries, 112 yards) followed Camp's score with a 23-yard touchdown on the ground. Bean scored again on a four-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Michael Hotham's two-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter capped Easthampton's scoring.

Shane Andrews added seven carries for 60 yards for the Eagles.

Easthampton hosts Pioneer Regional at 7 p.m. next Friday.
