UMass student hit by vehicle

AMHERST - A University of Massachusetts freshman struck by a vehicle while crossing Commonwealth Avenue Monday night was brought to the hospital with what police described as non life-threatening injuries.
Allison L. Ingraham, a music major from Belchertown, was walking in a crosswalk from Mullins Center to the new Recreation Center when she was hit by a vehicle at around 6:30 p.m., said UMass spokesman Ed Blaguszewski.
Ingraham was transported by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.
Blaguszewski said the accident remains under investigation.
