Hampshire girls gets another shutout in finale

The Hampshire Regional girls soccer team sent its four seniors out with a win and a championship on senior night as the Red Raiders beat Holyoke 2-0 at Dorunda Field to sew up the Central League title.

Shelby Benoit and Sarah Kober each had unassisted goals for the Red Raiders.

Goalie Nicki Stasz made four saves in her 14th shutout this season for Hampshire (12-1-3, 5-1-2).

Frontier Regional 1, South Hadley 1 - Brianna Tabin scored an unassisted goal in the 46th minute to give the Tigers (5-11-2, 2-7-1 Grieve) the lead in an upset bid, but the Red Hawks managed a tie in the regular-season finale for both teams in South Deerfield.

Marissa Josub scored the equalizer off a Meg DeGregorio assist in the 78th minute for the Red Hawks (11-3-4, 6-2-2).

Abby Kusek made 13 saves in goal for the Tigers, and Mariel Brown had one for Frontier

It was the final game for Tigers seniors Morgan Desjardins, Olivia Laurin, Abbey Lemanski and Nora McDonough.

Westfield 4, Amherst Regional 0 - The Hurricanes (1-14-1, 1-9 Kurty-Fielding) ended their season with the loss on the road.

The defeat marked the final game for Amherst seniors Alyssa Leonard, Emma Van Emmerik, Catherine Morse and Afra Danai.
