Sees Higgins as best qualified to manage city's issues

To the editor:

Let's get serious. Short of walking around town with a red rubber nose, Clare Higgins has shown a remarkable ability not to take herself too seriously, as she has taken on the enormous challenges facing our wonderful city in recent years.

While she has never shied away from poking fun at herself, she takes what she does very seriously and Northampton is all the better for it.

Anyone who would suggest that Clare has somehow lost touch with the population hasn't been paying attention. While it is perhaps inevitable that over a long stretch of time in elected office there will be those who become disenchanted with a perceived lack of progress in certain areas, we must ask ourselves this question: Is there anyone more qualified on the ballot to manage, truly manage, our way through an increasingly complex set of issues facing Northampton?

Seriously.
