Minutewomen rout Billikens
The University of Massachusetts field hockey team had four players score two goals apiece in a 10-1 rout at Saint Louis on Sunday.
Senior captain Katie Kelly led the Minutewomen (10-7, 1-3 Atlantic 10) with two goals and four assists.
Makaela Potts added two goals and two assists for UMass, and Kate Heineman and Anniek Scholten each scored twice.
Cher King had a goal and an assist for the Minutewomen, and Jaime Bourazeris scored their other goal.
Eight of the 10 goals came in the first half, prompting UMass coach Justine Sowry to remove goalkeeper Alesha Widdall (one save) at halftime and relieve her with senior Sarah Williams, who did not make any saves.
The Minutewomen had a 31-3 shot advantage over the Billikens (1-14. 0-4 A-10).
UMass hosts Dartmouth at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Garber Field.
Amherst 3, Wesleyan 0 - Haley Douds scored two goals to lead the Jeffs (10-3, 5-3 New England Small College Athletic Conference) who won Saturday in Amherst.
Elizabeth Schink scored the other goal and Katie McMahon added two assists for Amherst which outshot the Cardinals 29-9.
Emily Vitale made six saves in goal for the Jeffs.
Wheaton 2, Smith 0 - Margaret Winter made seven saves in goal for the Pioneers (3-11, 0-7 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference) who lost Saturday in Enfield, Conn.
Michelle Walsh of Northampton was one of eight seniors honored by Smith before the game.
MIT 7, Mount Holyoke 1 - Maddy Starbranch scored the final goal of the game for the Lyons (9-7, 4-4 NEWMAC) who lost Saturday in Cambridge.
Katie Gibson made eight saves in goal for Mount Holyoke.
