Falcons bounce back with win

Smith Academy 4, Greenfield 1 - Emiko Barker and Steph Slysz each had a goal and an assist as the Falcons (15-1) bounced back after suffering their first loss of the season at Minnechaug on Wednesday.

Alyssa Woodward and Sarah Wickles also scored for Smith Academy, now 7-0 in the North division.

Kierstan Mulcare made five saves in goal for the Falcons.

Minnechaug Regional 4, Amherst Regional 0 - Despite the overall efforts of Alex Adolph and Olivia Bannon, the Hurricanes (3-9-2, 0-7 South) were shut out by the Falcons (8-4-2, 2-3-1), who clinched a spot in postseason play.

"We just had trouble getting that last touch," Amherst coach Carol Samuels said.

Goalie Ellie Massengill had seven saves for the Hurricanes.

Longmeadow 3, South Hadley 0 - Goalie Mic Boyer made 18 saves for the Tigers (7-4-3) at home.

Longmeadow (13-1-1) scored all three goals in the first half.
