NORTHAMPTON - Marjorie (Bullock) Wright, of 349 Haydenville Road, Leeds, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 21, at the age of 100 at the Linda Manor Nursing Home.

Marjorie was born June 27, 1909, in Worcester. She was the daughter of the late Horatio Van Bullock and Ruth Esther Ferguson. Married to the late Joseph O. Wright, she lived most of her 100 years in Springfield.

Marjorie was a dedicated teacher who taught for 35 years in Brookfield, Worthington, and Springfield elementary schools, retiring in 1971 after teaching for 21 years at Center School in Longmeadow.

She enjoyed travel and outings with her two granddaughters. Marge was an avid reader and was for many years a member of the Tuesday Morning Music Club in Springfield. She was a member of the Retired Educators Association of Massachusetts.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joe; her brother, Robert Ferguson Bullock; and in 2003, by her son, Robert B. Wright of Springfield. She leaves her beloved granddaughters, Deanna Dunbar of Jamestown, R.I.; and Melissa Ross, and her husband, Stephen of Florence; her great-granddaughters, Lilly and Natalie Ross, also of Florence; her sister, Eleanor Rodda, and her husband, Charles (Bud) of Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a calling hour on Friday, Sept. 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., Springfield, followed by a funeral home service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marjorie's name to St. Barnabas and All Saints Church 41 Oakland St., Springfield, MA 01108.
