Sarah Wickles and Lindsay Gondek each added goals for Smith, and Allison Slysz had an assist.

Goalie Kierstan Mulcare made three saves for the Falcons.

Bridget Stryszko had 15 saves for the Red Hawks (1-1, 1-1 North).

Westfield 3, Amherst Regional 0 - Goaltender Ellie Massengill made 13 saves, but the Hurricanes lost their season-opener at home.

Forward Alex Adolph and defender Emily Barstow played well for Amherst.

The name of Massengill, a senior, was omitted from the list of newcomers for Amherst Regional in the Falls Sports Preview published Wednesday.
