Danella leads Minutewoman win

Freshman Kristina Danella had her second double-double as the University of Massachusetts women's basketball team ended its regular season with an 82-66 win over La Salle Saturday afternoon on senior day at the Mullins Center.

It was the highest-scoring game of the season for the Minutewomen (12-17, 5-9 Atlantic 10) who will be seeded No. 11 in the conference tournament. UMass will play at 8 p.m. Friday in Charlotte, N.C.

The Minutewomen led for all but 13 seconds of Saturday's game, and shot 51.8 percent from the field, including 10-for-18 from 3-point range.

Danella tied her career high with 25 points, and added a game-high 10 rebounds.

Teya Wright had 14 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists for the Minutewomen, Sakera Young contributed 12 points, five assists and four steals, and Stefanie Gerardot scored 11 points.
