Dayton takes control to outlast Minutewomen

The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team trailed by just four points with under 10 minutes to play Saturday, but Dayton went on to win 86-65.
The Flyers (14-10, 3-5 Atlantic 10) outscored the Minutewomen (9-14, 2-6 A-10) 23-6 in the final 9:39.
Kristina Danella led UMass with 20 points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks, and Teya Wright added her fifth career double-double with 14 rebounds and 13 points.
Stefanie Gerardot added 17 points for the Minutewomen who trailed 41-38 at halftime.
UMass returns home to host Temple at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Mullins Center on field trip day.
