The University of Massachusetts women's basketball team lost its third straight game 89-55 to Boston College at Chestnut Hill Sunday afternoon.

The Minutewomen (6-8) could not overcome 40-for-72 (55.6 percent) shooting from the field by the Eagles (11-3).

UMass shot just 28.8 percent, led by Stefanie Gerardot with 16 points and six rebounds.

The Minutewomen return home to play the New Jersey Institute of Technology at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mullins Center.
