HATFIELD - Muriel (Michnoff) Barowsky, 91, of Prospect Street died Friday in an Amherst Nursing Home.

Muriel was born in Bay Shore, Long Island, and had lived in Holyoke most of her life. She moved to Florida in 1972 and returned to Hatfield in 1987 to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

She was a longtime member of Rodphey Sholom Synagogue. Her husband, Isadore Barowsky, died in 1986.

She leaves a son, Stephen Barowsky of Hatfield; a daughter, Betsy Tarr and her husband, Jimmy, of Hatfield; two granddaughters, Rachel Tarr of Belchertown and Jillian Tarr of Hatfield; and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Martins. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Michnoff, and sisters Rhoda Feinberg and Grace Slavin.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Rodphey Sholom Cemetery in Chicopee. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
