Beatrice Kaminski, accomplished painter
EASTHAMPTON - Beatrice E. "T.C." (Dragon) Kaminski, 71, of Clark Street, Easthampton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, at home. She was born in Easthampton, July 19, 1937, the daughter of the late Roland and Beatrice (St. Pierre) Dragon. T.C. was educated at the former Immaculate Conception School in Easthampton and a graduate of St. Michael's High School in Northampton, class of 1955.
Later in life, she attended Holyoke Community College, where she studied oil painting. T.C. was employed as a secretary at the former Stanley Home Products Co. in Easthampton in the Industrial Engineering Office for 10 years.
Later, she was employed as an assistant activity director for the Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home in West Springfield, as a secretary for the Board of Realtors in Northampton, as the activity director for the Hampshire Manor Nursing Home in Northampton, and retiring from Smith College's office of admissions as the mail coordinator and supervisor for the work-study students in 1999.
Mrs. Kaminski was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Easthampton, where she was a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Women's Club of that parish. She was also a member of the St. Anne Society of the Notre Dame Church in Easthampton.
T.C. was a volunteer at the Easthampton Council on Aging, serving as the treasurer of the Friends of the Council on Aging. She was a member of the Dalton LaVallee American Legion Women's Auxiliary Unit 224. Mrs. Kaminski was an accomplished oil paint artist and enjoyed her sewing.
She leaves her beloved husband of 48 years, Joseph M. Kaminski; her loving children, Joseph M. Kaminski Jr., of Chicago, Ill., and Michael D. and his wife, Gina Kaminski, of Tolland, and Bethany M. (Kaminski) Lannon, of Easthampton; her caring brother, Roland Dragon Jr., of Shutesbury, and her cherished grandchildren, Haley Lannon, Adam Kaminski and Robin Kaminski, and several nieces and nephews.
T.C. was predeceased by her sister, Jeannette Briere.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the O'Brien Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in the St. Brigid's Cemetery. All are in Easthampton. Calling hours will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home.
