Ruth Stebbins, kindergarten teacher
LAWRENCE - Ruth L. (Herrmann) Stebbins, 84, of Lawrence, formerly of Northampton, died Sunday, Aug. 10, at her home.
She was born in Holyoke on Nov. 12, 1923.
She taught kindergarten for Andover public schools for 28 years until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Andover Teachers Association.
She is survived by her husband, Albert J. Stebbins Jr. of Lawrence; four children, Eliabeth Mignault, and her husband, Edwin, of Concord, N.H., Albert J. Stebbins III, and his wife, Sonya, of Batavia, Ill., Cynthia A. Danforth, and her husband, Stephen, of Andover, and Jeffrey W. Stebbins, and his partner, Lap Tran, of San Diego; five grandchildren, Taylor and Alanna Mignault, Jennifer and Stephanie Danforth and Stephen Danforth II; a brother, Donald Herrmann of Omaha, Neb.; three sisters, Claire Culver of Easthampton, Barbara Benoit of South Hadley, and Betty Pomeroy of South Hadley; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. at South Church, 41 Central St., Andover. Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main St., Andover. Cremation will take place at Linwood Crematory.
