northampton - Ruth (Richardson) Dempsey, 85, formerly of Meadowbook Apartments, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Linda Manor Extended Care Facility. She was born in Goshen, the daughter of Augustus and Elizabeth (Warren) Richardson. Her husband, James, died in 1975 and a son, George, died in 2000.

She was a member of the Williamsburg Congregational Church for 60 years.

She leaves a brother, Russell Richardson, of Williamsburg; a daughter-in-law, Loire Dempsey, of Stafford Springs, Conn.; a niece, Jacyues, and her husband, Arthur; a nephew, Floyd Richardson, of Washington, D.C.; and a nephew, Michael Richardson, and wife, Kathy, of Hatfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsburg Congregational Church or the Recreation Department of Linda Manor Extended Care Facility or the charities of one's choice.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Williamsburg Congregational Church. Burial will be in the Village Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Childs Funeral Home in Haydenville.
